Anne was born in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in 1929, but due to the growing hatred of the Nazis towards Jews, Otto and Edith Frank, the parents of Anne and her sister Margot, decided to flee to Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 1933. Then, on 6 July 1942, after the Nazis invaded the country, the family hid in a secret apartment above Otto Frank's office in the centre of the city. A few weeks earlier, on her 13th birthday, Anne received a diary as a present and started writing her world famous diary. Through the pages of this book, which was adapted into Welsh by Eigra Lewis Roberts, we get to know the real Anne Frank, and share the hopes and fears, the experiences and emotions, which she recorded during the two years she and her family hid from the Nazis.
